  • About CanadaDids
  • 1. Who is CanadaDids?

    CanadaDids is the wholesale division of Prodosec Inc, a Montreal based VoIP provider.  Founded in 2004, the company specialises in VoIP services for Canadian enterprises.

  • 2. Does CanadaDids only sell to Canadian customers?

    CanadaDids has direct connections to  major Canadian telcos, and so we can guarantee call quality to business customers in Canada.     Although most of our wholesale customers are in Canada,  users from elswehere are welcome.

  • Ordering & Billing
  • 1. How do I Order?

    Contact us for a copy of our wholesale agreement.  We can usually get you setup in a day or less for testing.

  • 2. Can I test the Quality of the Service?

    Definitely.  There is no setup charge for our services, and we do not have a long term contract.  You will not be invoiced for services until they are fully functional.

  • 3. How do I pay?

    We accept Visa and Mastercard.  Post payment by cheque is available for large accounts with a good record of timely payment.

  • 4. How Does Billing Work?

    We invoice on the first day of each month.  The invoice will include DIDs and per channel services for that month,  and any per minute charges that may be billable from the previous month.   A deposit may be required for new customers with per minute service until a payment history is established.

  • 5. Do you Bill Per Second?

    Yes.  Although we refer to 'per minute services' they are billed per second.

  • 1. Do You offer SMS / Text Messaging

    Yes, CanadaDids does support SMS messaging on most of our Canadian DIDs.    SMS messages sent to the numbers are received as email message, with the capability to reply to the message or even enter a "chat" .

  • 2. Do you offer 911 Service?

    This is wholesale VoIP service not intended for end users and does not include 911 servce.  VoIP providers are mandated by the CRTC to offer 911 service.  We can recommend third party 911 serice providers.

  • 3. Do you offer toll free numbers?

    Yes we do.  There is an additional per minute charge for inbound calls.

  • 4. Do You Offer Fax to Email

    Yes we do.  Fax to email delivers incoming faxes sent to a regular fax number as a PDF email attachment. 

  • 5. Do You Set a Channel Limit For Per Minute Billing Customers?

    We do set a channel limit for all customers, even on a per minute billing.  The reason we do this is to  protect the customer if their server is hacked.  This happens from time to time, and puts a limit on the financial exposure you face in such a situation.  A deposit may be required for new customers requiring a large number of channels.

    We can increase the channel limit for customers expecting a high call volume.

  • 6. Do You Accept Dialer Traffic?

    No.  Dialer traffic is not profitable.  We only accept manually dialed traffic.

  • 7. Where are Your Data Centres Located?

    We have a  redundant setup in two data centres: 1250 Rene Levesque West in Montreal and Toiur de la Bourse (Place Victoria) in Montreal.  1250 Rene Levesque is the primary carrier interconnect in Montreal.

  • 8. Can I order DIDs on Line?

    Yes.  You are able to select from the DIDs we hold in inventory.

  • 9. Do you have an online portal?

    yes.  We have a full web portal that enables you to manage your dids, gateways and trunks. 

  • 10. Where can we Peer with You?

    We have our own BGP AS53441 and use multiple upstream providers.  We can also peer at QiX in Montreal and Torix in 151 Front St in Toronto.
